Unauthenticated shortcode execution via unvalidated do_shortcode input
Published May 16, 2025 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Missing authorization in villatheme CURCY 2.3.7 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary WordPress shortcodes. An exposed action forwards an attacker-controlled value to WordPress do_shortcode without sufficient authorization or input validation. Unauthenticated network access is sufficient; consequences depend on registered shortcode handlers, and direct PHP code execution is not established.
