Unauthenticated administrator creation via speaker import
Published May 23, 2025 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Incorrect privilege assignment in Arraytics Eventin 4.0.26 and earlier allows remote attackers to create administrator accounts via speaker import. The /wp-json/eventin/v2/speakers/import route accepts unauthenticated uploads because import_item_permissions_check returns true, and SpeakerImporter passes an attacker-supplied role into user creation. Network access to an active Eventin site is sufficient; an imported administrator can reset the account password and take full control of the WordPress site.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
