CVE-2025-47503Network attack vector

Stored script execution via unsanitized shortcode attribute

Published May 7, 2025 · Updated Apr 28, 2026

Stored cross-site scripting in NGG Smart Image Search 3.3.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute script in a visitor's browser. The plugin stores an unsanitized shortcode parameter attribute and later inserts it into a generated page, causing the browser to interpret attacker-supplied markup as script. Exploitation requires an authenticated account with content-editing and publishing capabilities and a visitor who renders the affected shortcode output.
