Wireless service interruption via oversized authentication element

Buffer over-read in Qualcomm Snapdragon WLAN firmware allows attackers to interrupt wireless service with an oversized authentication element. The frame parser trusts the authentication information-element length while processing a received WLAN frame and reads beyond the available buffer. An unauthenticated transmitter within WLAN radio range can trigger a transient firmware failure without user interaction; no data disclosure or modification is reported.
