CVE-2025-47203

Local command execution via multihop hostname

Published May 7, 2025 · Updated May 17, 2025

Command injection in Dropbear SSH dbclient before 2025.88 allows attackers to execute arbitrary local shell commands via a hostname. During comma-separated multihop handling, dbclient inserts the hostname into a command string that it passes to a shell instead of executing the hop directly. Exploitation requires another context to supply an untrusted hostname to dbclient; commands run locally with the invoking user's privileges.
