Code execution via use-after-free
Published Jun 10, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
Use-after-free in Microsoft Office Excel allows attackers to execute code locally after interaction with attacker-supplied content. Microsoft identifies the memory-lifetime flaw in Excel but has not disclosed the affected component or the operation that leaves freed memory reachable. A local user must interact with the content; successful exploitation runs code with that user's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
