Application crash via null pointer dereference
Published Jul 8, 2025 · Updated Jul 9, 2025
NULL pointer dereference in Adobe FrameMaker 2020.8 and 2022.6 and earlier allows attackers to crash the application via a crafted file. Adobe has not disclosed the affected parser or the operation that dereferences the null pointer while processing file contents. Exploitation is local and unauthenticated but requires a user to open a malicious file; the bounded consequence is an application crash, not code execution or data access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
