CVE-2025-46833Network attack vector

Data decryption via 1024-bit RSA key generation

Published May 8, 2025 · Updated May 8, 2025

Inadequate encryption strength in python-progrrames before commit 6ce60b1 allows attackers to decrypt RSA-protected data by brute force. Programs/P73_SimplePythonEncryption.py calls RSA.generate with a 1024-bit size, producing keys below the recommended strength for protected data. Exploitation requires ciphertext produced with the generated key and sufficient computational resources; the bounded impact is disclosure of encrypted data.
