CVE-2025-46822Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated file read via absolute path resolution

Published May 21, 2025 · Updated May 21, 2025

Absolute path traversal in OsamaTaher Java-springboot-codebase 1.1 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary server files. The unauthenticated /api/v1/files/{fileName} endpoint passes the path segment to FileSystemStorageService.loadAsResource, where path resolution accepts absolute input without confirming that the result remains under the configured storage root. A reachable deployment of the affected sample service is sufficient to disclose any file readable by its process; no file modification or service interruption is reported.
