CVE-2025-46819Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Process-memory disclosure or crash via Lua delimiter underflow

Published Oct 3, 2025 · Updated Oct 3, 2025

Out-of-bounds read in Redis 8.2.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to expose process memory or crash the server via Lua. The bundled Lua lexer's skip_sep function represents a malformed long-string delimiter with a negative separator count that read_long_string uses in buffer offset and length arithmetic. Redis credentials and permission to execute Lua are required; successful exploitation reads adjacent process memory or interrupts the service with a crash.
