CVE-2025-4681

Persistent elevation after restart during elevated mode

Published Jun 10, 2025 · Updated Jun 10, 2025

Improper privilege management in upKeeper Instant Privilege Access before 1.4.0 allows local users to retain elevated rights after a restart. The agent elevation-control function sometimes fails to remove elevation when a computer restarts while a user is in elevated mode. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access, active user interaction, and a restart during elevation; all processes started after logon receive uncontrolled elevated rights.
