CVE-2025-46809Network attack vector

Proxy credential disclosure via malformed URL logging

Published Jul 31, 2025 · Updated Sep 3, 2025

Plaintext password storage in SUSE Manager products allows remote authenticated users to read HTTP proxy credentials from log files. When spacewalk-backend handles a malformed HTTP proxy URL, its error logging records the URL without redacting its embedded password. Low-privileged network access and passive user interaction are required, after which accessible logs disclose the configured proxy credential.
