CVE-2025-46750

Protected BIOS settings changes via passwordless import

Published May 12, 2025 · Updated May 12, 2025

Authentication bypass in SEL BIOS before 1.3.49152.117 or 2.6.49152.98 allows local users to change protected BIOS settings. The BIOS settings importer accepts a settings file with no password set and applies protected configuration changes without validating the configured BIOS password. High-privilege local access and the ability to import a crafted settings file are required; the documented consequence is unauthorized BIOS configuration change.
