Modbus service outage via malformed messages
Published Jan 7, 2026 · Updated Jan 7, 2026
Improper exception handling in ABB WebPro SNMP Card PowerValue products through 1.1.8.k allows remote attackers to disable Modbus. The device's Modbus slave implementation mishandles a crafted message, destabilizing TCP port 502 until the device is manually rebooted. Exploitation requires access to the system network but no authentication or user interaction, and the reported consequence is limited to Modbus service unavailability.
