CVE-2025-46735

Authenticated command execution via unsanitized DNS record input

Published May 6, 2025 · Updated May 6, 2025

Command injection in Terraform WinDNS Provider 1.0.4 and earlier allows local users to execute commands on the SSH-connected Windows host. The windns_record resource interpolates incompletely sanitized names, zones, types, and record data into PowerShell commands sent over SSH. Exploitation requires high privileges to supply a crafted resource and an operator to apply it, granting command execution on the remote Windows host.
