Privilege disclosure via unchecked sudo list target
Published May 12, 2025 · Updated May 12, 2025
Information disclosure in sudo-rs before 0.2.6 allows local users with limited sudo rights to enumerate other users' privileges. The sudo --list pipeline accepts -U for another account and reports matching sudoers entries without enforcing the list pseudocommand's authorization control. Exposure requires a restricted sudo rule; accounts with no sudo access or unrestricted root command access are unaffected, and the output reveals permissions useful for targeted follow-on activity.
