CVE-2025-46717Public exploit

File-existence disclosure via pre-authorization command resolution

Published May 12, 2025 · Updated May 12, 2025

Information disclosure in Trifecta Tech Foundation sudo-rs before 0.2.6 allows local users to infer file existence via sudo --list. The list pipeline resolves the supplied pathname and returns CommandNotFound before checking sudoers authorization, producing a different response for an existing inaccessible file. Local shell access with no or limited sudo privileges is sufficient; the result reveals only existence or nonexistence and potentially sensitive filenames, not file contents.
