CVE-2025-46599Network attack vector

Credential disclosure via omitted kubelet port setting

Published Apr 25, 2025 · Updated Apr 25, 2025

Information disclosure in Rancher K3s 1.32 before 1.32.4-rc1+k3s1 allows remote attackers to read pod credentials over TCP port 10255. K3s marshals ReadOnlyPort=0 through the Kubernetes KubeletConfiguration struct, whose omitempty tag drops the zero value and restores kubelet's 10255 default. Exposure requires network access to a default-installed server or agent; the unauthenticated endpoint reveals pod environment secrets but does not alter cluster data.
