Authentication disruption via unrestricted authenticator switching
Published Apr 30, 2025 · Updated Apr 30, 2025
Missing authorization in the authenticator administration page in XWiki Platform allows remote attackers to change the active authenticator. The XWiki.Authentication space lacked WebPreferences restricting page viewing and administrative actions to XWiki.XWikiAdminGroup. The page is viewable by default, but impact requires an alternative authenticator and no xwiki.cfg override; switching from SSO can interrupt authentication.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
