Attachment metadata disclosure via missing per-item authorization
Published Apr 30, 2025 · Updated Apr 30, 2025
Missing authorization in XWiki Platform's wiki attachment REST endpoint allows remote attackers to read restricted attachment metadata. BaseAttachmentsResource.getAttachments converts every query result without checking VIEW rights on each attachment reference. No authentication or user interaction is required, so even a private wiki can disclose attachment-list metadata, while the advisory reports no file-content access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
