CVE-2025-46548Network attack vector

Unauthenticated management API access via optional authenticator

Published Jun 3, 2025 · Updated Jun 11, 2025

Authentication bypass in Apache Pekko Management before 1.1.1 and Akka Management before 1.6.1 allows remote attackers to access management APIs. The Java DSL route wrapper makes authenticateBasicAsync optional, converting failed or absent credentials into an accepted route result. Exposure requires Basic Authentication configured through the Java DSL on a network-reachable management endpoint; unauthenticated callers can read or invoke its routes.
