Stored script execution via unneutralized shortcode input
Published Apr 24, 2025 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in Metaloha Dropdown Content 1.0.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute scripts in visitors' browsers. The shortcode handlers pass author-defined class, name, and value attributes into HTML templates after trimming alone, without neutralizing them in the handlers. Patchstack does not disclose which attribute is injectable; exploitation requires a visitor to load the affected stored content.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
