CVE-2025-46399Public exploit

Converter crash via missing spline control

Published Apr 23, 2025 · Updated Jun 30, 2026

NULL pointer dereference in Xfig fig2dev 3.2.9a and earlier allows local users to crash the converter with a crafted FIG file. The GE output driver's genge_itp_spline function advances through spline controls and dereferences a missing next control pointer. The malformed file must reach the GE output path; the resulting zero-page read terminates the fig2dev process.
