Code execution via backup restore path traversal
Published Jul 31, 2025 · Updated Jul 31, 2025
Path traversal in PowerCMS 4.6 and earlier, 5.3 and earlier, and 6.7 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code. The backup restore feature accepts path elements from an altered backup without confining restored files to the intended directory. Product-administrator access is required to submit and restore the crafted archive; successful exploitation runs arbitrary code with the service process privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
