Backup disclosure and disk exhaustion via public routes
Published Apr 29, 2025 · Updated Apr 30, 2025
Missing authorization in YesWiki before 4.5.4 allows remote attackers to create and download site backup archives without authentication. The archive API routes combine public and administrator ACL labels, so POST /api/archives starts a backup and GET /api/archives/{id} returns it without an administrator check. No account or user interaction is required; predictable timestamp-based archive names expose sensitive site data, while repeated creation can fill the server filesystem.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
