SQL injection via unescaped sequence identifiers
Published May 1, 2025 · Updated May 26, 2025
SQL injection in ADOdb before 5.22.9 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL through pg_insert_id() with user-supplied data. The PostgreSQL driver concatenates unescaped table and field names into a sequence-name query instead of quoting them as identifiers. Exploitation requires a consuming application to use a PostgreSQL driver and pass attacker-controlled data to pg_insert_id(), with database reads, writes, or service interruption bounded by the application's database privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
