CVE-2025-46329

Encryption-key disclosure via incomplete log masking

Published Apr 29, 2025 · Updated Apr 29, 2025

Sensitive data logging in Snowflake Connector for C/C++ 0.5.0 through 2.1.0 allows local users to read a stage encryption key. The logger's SecretDetector omitted queryStageMasterKey and encryptionMaterial patterns, so DEBUG output preserved the unmasked key during GET and PUT commands. Exploitation requires DEBUG logging and local log access; the key alone cannot access staged data without additional authorization.
