Unauthenticated code execution via update-file path traversal
Published May 13, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
Path traversal in Samsung Electronics MagicINFO 9 Server before 21.1052 allows remote attackers to write files with system authority. The unauthenticated SWUpdateFileUploader servlet concatenates the fileName parameter into its upload path and writes the POST body without traversal or extension checks. No user interaction is required; a crafted filename can place a JSP web shell in the application and execute arbitrary server-side code.
