CVE-2025-46294Network attack vector

Unauthenticated path disclosure via IIS short names

Published Dec 16, 2025 · Updated Dec 16, 2025

Information disclosure in Claris FileMaker Server before 22.0.4 allows remote attackers to infer hidden file and directory names. The Windows IIS front end resolves crafted tilde requests against legacy NTFS 8.3 short names, and response differences disclose whether paths exist. The condition is reachable without authentication only on Windows deployments that expose IIS and retain applicable 8.3 names; it reveals path existence but does not read file contents.
