Unauthenticated code execution via unrestricted PHP upload
Published May 9, 2025 · Updated May 12, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in SourceCodester Client Database Management System 1.0 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary server code. The user_proposal_update_order.php handler accepts the uploaded_file_cancelled field without checking its type, MIME type, or extension and stores the file in the web-accessible /files/ directory. Authentication is not required, so execution occurs when the uploaded PHP file is requested, with the web server account's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
