System crash via zero-sized timer chunk division

Divide-by-zero in the Redox OS 0.8.0 kernel allows local users to crash the operating system through a crafted setitimer call. The unimplemented itimer scheme passes attacker-controlled timer data through in_exact_chunks, where specific time arguments produce a zero-sized chunk divisor and panic the kernel. Any local process able to invoke setitimer can trigger the crash; no confidentiality or integrity impact is reported.
