CVE-2025-46152Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Incorrect results via unchecked CPU shift counts

Published Sep 25, 2025 · Updated Sep 25, 2025

Incorrect calculation in PyTorch 2.6.0 allows remote attackers to produce silent wrong results through torch.bitwise_right_shift. CPU Inductor generated a direct C++ right-shift expression without checking whether the shift count reached the operand width, causing a count of 64 on an int64 tensor to restart the shift and return 1000 instead of zero. Exploitation requires an application to compile an attacker-influenced tensor operation with torch.compile for CPU execution; the resulting model computation silently uses an incorrect value.
