CVE-2025-46149Public exploit

Operation interruption via invalid atomic-add code generation

Published Sep 25, 2025 · Updated Sep 25, 2025

Reachable assertion in PyTorch 2.6.0 allows context-dependent attackers to interrupt compiled nn.Fold operations on the CPU backend. Inductor's C++ code generator either stores an atomic-add value without first loading and adding it in CppVecKernel or reaches an unsupported atomic_add path in CppTile2DKernel, raising AssertionError during code generation. The failure requires an application to compile an attacker-influenced nn.Fold model with the Inductor CPU backend; the observed consequence is termination of that compilation or inference operation.
