Unauthenticated file access via hard-coded FTP credentials
Published Jul 21, 2025 · Updated Jul 28, 2025
Authentication bypass in RUCKUS Unleashed and ZoneDirector allows remote attackers to access controller files through FTP. A hard-coded password for the ftpuser account authenticates every installation and grants read and write access to writable firmware directories. Network access to the FTP service is sufficient to retrieve sensitive files or upload files that compromise the controller.
