Root shell access via disabled CLI passphrase
Published Jul 21, 2025 · Updated Jul 22, 2025
Privilege escalation in Ruckus Unleashed and ZoneDirector allows remote authenticated users to obtain a root shell on affected controllers. A management API call disables the passphrase requirement for the hidden !v54! CLI command, which then escapes the restricted shell. Valid management credentials are required; affected releases precede the respective published Unleashed and ZoneDirector fixes.
