Server-side code execution via unchecked rename suffix
Published May 29, 2025 · Updated May 29, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in HuoCMS 3.5.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute server-side code by renaming an uploaded file. AttachmentController.php editFileUrl() copies a previously accepted file to a suffix_url path without applying the upload whitelist to the new suffix. The published procedure sends an authorization token, uploads malicious content under an allowed .txt name, and then renames it with a .php suffix.
