Unauthenticated account takeover via unverified password changes
Published Jul 9, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Privilege escalation in Uxper Sala 1.1.4 and earlier allows remote attackers to take over arbitrary accounts by changing their passwords. The theme's password-update path accepts an unauthenticated request without validating that the requester controls the targeted user account. No prior account is required, and changing an administrator password grants access to that administrator account.
