Victim-browser script execution via stored chat input
Published Jul 25, 2025 · Updated Jul 5, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in tawk.to Live Chat 1.6.1 allows remote attackers to execute script in a user's browser through chat input. The chat field accepts an HTML image tag with an event handler, stores it, and renders it without adequate validation or output encoding. Script execution requires a user to click the injected element and is confined to that user's browser context, enabling page-context data access or modification.
