Stored XSS via unescaped bt-map shortcode attributes
Published May 15, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in the Bon Toolkit bt-map shortcode 1.3.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to run scripts in visitors' browsers. The shortcode processes user-supplied attributes without sufficient input sanitization or output escaping, causing crafted markup to be stored and emitted when the page renders. Contributor-level access or higher is required to inject the payload; opening the affected page executes it in the site's browser context.
