Contributor-level stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Aug 2, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in 360 Photo Spheres 1.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through sphere shortcode attributes. The sphere shortcode renders user-supplied attributes without sufficient input sanitization or output escaping. Contributor-level WordPress access is required to store the payload, which runs when any user opens the injected page and can act in that browser context.
