Authenticated web service crash via unchecked interface name
Published May 20, 2025 · Updated May 20, 2025
Buffer overflow in the formDhcpv6s handler in TOTOLINK A3002R 4.0.0-B20230531.1404 allows remote authenticated users to crash Boa. FUN_00451dc8 retrieves POST parameters and copies interfacenameds with strcpy without checking its length, overflowing a stack buffer. Exploitation requires a valid sessionCheck value plus enabled wan_enable and enable_dhcpv6s flags; the demonstrated consequence is a Boa process crash.
