Unauthenticated camera reboot via oversized PrivateKey
Published Jun 27, 2025 · Updated Jun 30, 2025
A crafted POST request to Hikvision DS-2CD1321 series camera firmware 5.7.21 build 230819 triggers a denial of service and reboot. At /ISAPI/Security/challenge, an approximately 100,000-character value in the PrivateKey field consumes available memory and terminates the davinci process. Exploitation requires network reachability and precise request timing, and success depends on existing memory pressure; the resulting outage is temporary.
