Service crash via negative CONTENT_LENGTH dereference
Published May 12, 2025 · Updated May 12, 2025
Null pointer dereference in Netis WF2880 firmware 2.1.40207 allows remote attackers to crash cgitest.cgi via CONTENT_LENGTH. FUN_004904c8 reads attacker-controlled CONTENT_LENGTH through getenv and fails to reject a negative value before dereferencing a resulting null pointer. No authentication or user interaction is required; successful exploitation terminates the CGI process without reported data exposure or modification.
