Unauthenticated administrative access via unchecked CGI requests
Published Jul 2, 2025 · Updated Jul 2, 2025
Authentication bypass in NOVELSAT NS3000 7.x, 7.2.8.124852, and 8.1.1.125110 and NS2000 7.02.08 allows remote attackers to hijack sessions. The query.fcgi handler accepts form_state, form_name, and field_name values and performs sensitive backend operations without validating a session. No login or session token is required; crafted requests can create or delete users, change passwords, and disclose Telnet credentials.
