Script execution via unsanitized DOM reconstruction
Published Apr 9, 2026 · Updated Apr 9, 2026
Cross-site scripting in rrweb-snapshot before 2.0.0-alpha.18 allows remote attackers to execute scripts through crafted replay data. The rebuild method reconstructs the DOM from insufficiently sanitized snapshot data, allowing embedded content to execute when a recorded session is replayed. Exploitation requires attacker-controlled snapshot data to be replayed outside a sandboxed iframe and can expose data and actions available to the replay document's origin.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
