Code execution via unchecked stack copy
Published May 12, 2025 · Updated May 12, 2025
Stack buffer overflow in Tenda AC10 firmware 15.03.06.46 allows remote attackers to execute code or crash the router via an HTTP POST. The formSetPPTPUserList handler in the httpd binary copies the list parameter into a fixed-size stack buffer with unsafe string functions and no bounds check. An oversized list containing many user entries corrupts stack memory in the root-privileged process; the public demonstration crashes the device, while the overflow enables code execution without prior authentication.
