CVE-2025-4552Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Super-administrator takeover via unchecked password-reset target

Published May 11, 2025 · Updated May 12, 2025

Broken access control in OpenContiNew ContiNew Admin 3.0 through 3.6.0 allows remote authenticated users to reset the super-administrator password. The PATCH handler for /dev-api/system/user/1/password accepts a user ID from the path and changes that account's password without verifying that the caller may target it. An account granted only password-reset permission can replace its own ID with 1, seize the super-administrator account, and control the application.
