Cross-origin data theft via reflected CORS origin
Published May 11, 2025 · Updated May 12, 2025
Permissive CORS in Freeebird Hotel API 1.0 through 1.2 allows remote attackers to read authenticated API responses through a victim's browser. SessionInterceptor.setCorsMappings copies the Origin request header verbatim into Access-Control-Allow-Origin and also sets Access-Control-Allow-Credentials to true. A logged-in victim must visit an attacker-controlled page; the browser then sends session cookies and exposes profile data to that origin.
