Password disclosure via reversible saved-password cookie
Published May 11, 2025 · Updated May 12, 2025
Cleartext cookie storage in RuoYi-Vue 3.8.0 through 3.8.9 allows remote attackers to recover saved account passwords. The login.vue handler encrypts the password before placing it in a cookie, while client-side jsencrypt code retains the decryption capability needed to reverse that value. Exploitation requires the saved-password option and access to the affected browser's cookie; the reported consequence is password disclosure without integrity or availability impact.
