Authenticated browser script execution via unescaped plant names
Published Aug 13, 2025 · Updated Aug 13, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in hortusfox-web 4.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in another user's browser. TextBlockModule.php interpolates an untrusted plant name into a chat message, addToChat stores it, and the chat view renders the message without HTML escaping. Any valid account can plant the payload; it executes when another user views the chat and can access data or perform actions in that user's application context.
